57th Annual Billy Bowlegs Festival May 31st – June 2, 2012

The excitment begins with The Billy Bowlegs Festival Torchlight Parade which will set sail from historic downtown Fort Walton Beach at 7 pm Thursday, May 31. They will travel North on Eglin Parkway beyond Uptown Station, stopping near Hughes Street. Parade watchers will be able to  see all the beautiful costumes and hear the festive music. The Torchlight Parade boasts almost 100 floats, boats, vessels, and marching units including visiting Krewes and, of course, the infamous Billy Bowlegs Pirates! The fun continues thru the weekend.

Friday & Saturday , June 1-2, 2012

The Krewe of Bowlegs will be making their traditional landing on Friday and coming back to TRY to take over Fort Walton Beach on Saturday. We will wait and see if they can beat Mayor Anderson and his militia. If not, the city will be taken over again by Pirates from all over. A great event for all ages. There will be plenty of kid friendly fun including Bounce House, Euro Bungee, Hamster Water Ride, Rock Climb, interactive games, and airbrush tattoos for the kids! Tickets will be available to purchase at the festival. For more information contact the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber or visit  http://www.billybowlegsfestival.com
